The Tale of Two Wolves

Treespotter, prominent blogger extraordinaire, has once more touched hearts of his readers by writing On Koshka, a story of a pet dog, Mowgli, and two pet cats, Sophie and Koshka.

Animal or a beast fable is a traditional form of allegorical writing in which human behaviors are subject to scrutiny by reflection into the animal kingdom. For centuries, human race has storytold countless beast fables to the most innocent ones, yet spoken for the wisest ones. Naming just a few, swans of The Swan Lake, pigs and equines of Orwell’s Animal Farm, sea creatures of Nemo and prehistoric animals of Ice Age.

Loyalty, compassion, strength, greed, covetousness, arrogance, good and evil–human traits seen in ourselves and others are subjectively interpretable through behavioral language of animals. Paradoxically, it is when we realize this commonness that we begin to question ourselves the distinction.

I decided to also share one of favorite fables of mine. It’s a short one and found randomly across the internet.

One day a grandfather was talking to his grandchildren. He said, “There are two wolves fighting inside all of us–the wolf of fear and hate, and the wolf of love and peace.

The grandson listened then looked up at his grandfather and asked, “Which one will win?”

The grandfather replied, “The one we feed.”.
