Kambing jantan akan segera tiba di teater anda!
Unfortunately no, no goats come strolling in theaters and eating popcorns. Can’t promise men with goatees either, though I’m not too sure on that these days. Private joke. Anyways, Kambing Jantan is a movie adapted from a book adapted from a blog. So yes, this is the first local blog that ever gets a real red carpet limelight. If it hits box office then we can all expect for Kambing Jantan sinetron version as well. The movie due to be released on March this year is directed by Rudy Sudjarwo and starred by the writer himself, Raditya Dika.
The story plot centers on Raditya Dika’s life as college student in Adelaide, Australia and his struggle during life overseas — dealing with long distance relationships, adjusting culturally and something about a dead goldfish. At first glance, the movie looks much like a typical teen flick, with Raditya Dika almost as if posing for Ringgo Agus Rahman instead of playing as himself. But nevermind the Oscar standards; the movie is likely succeed in giving witty, feel-good laugh that, not only entertains younger demographic, but also brings the older generation way back to the era of Hilman Lupus. Kambing Jantan carries on the iconic legacy with its own imaginative and cracked up approach to life realities.
Thus far, Raditya Dika has published five books: Cinta Brontosaurus, Kambing Jantan, Radikus Makankakus, Tolong, Radith Membuat Saya Bego! and Babi Ngesot. I’ll be looking forward to Kambing Jantan’s next adventure in second-half-twentysomething college?-whuzzafukizzat? post-campus life, which I assume dishes out more philosophical thus less slapstick humor, revolving around BlackBerry, the meaning of life, wedding parties, more parties, and BlackBerry.

huaaaaahhh masih belum….numpuk gitu kliatannya :(
apparently the film was not very good.
I’ve watched it, the movie wasn’t that good, quite funny on some parts though. It surely reminded me of my first couple of months in Tokyo, stuck in a city where people speak language I don’t understand and 100 minutes international telephone card costs 3 days lunch
Well written article.
