Black Innovation Awards 2008 Finalists
Indonesia’s Djarum Black Innovation Awards commemorates innovative developments of utility design and mechanism into novel forms of function. Among other requirements, the innovation must present an original creation that acquires artistic, imaginative values in addition to its usability and practicality. By accommodating both individual and communal creativity in the country, the annual event is expected to motivate further initiatives through inventive design that would serve the public and its problematics, such as flood, litter, transportation safety and education. Judges for this year’s competition are Yoris Sebastian, Ade Darmawan, Bre Redana, Sigi Wimala and Diana Mochdie. The finalists will compete in winning Rp. 25,000,000.- for four grand prize winner, Rp. 10,000,000.- for voters’ favorite and Rp 2,500,000.- for 20 preliminary finalists.
Innovations that have made it to the final round will be showcased at Cilandak Town Square, Jakarta on August 9th. At the mean time, here are the illustrations for each:
