do u know, that indonesia is the only country that still in recession from 1998 economical recession?
do u know, that indonesia cant preserve their own culture untill their culture were taken by the malaysians?
do u know, that indonesia is the only country that makes an australian bachelor degree the same as a D3 graduate?
do u know, that indonesia’s government dont give a shit about anything else happens outside of java?
do u know, that 85% of indonesian are living below standard minimum of living?

Sayangnya kehebatan negara kita dan kekayaan alamnya tidak dibarengi oleh kind hearts dan pendidikan yang baik sehingga hasilnya tidak optimal dan sangat tersentralisir. Terlalu banyak rakyat yang tidak menikmati hasil kekayaan negara, jangankan menikmati kekayaan negara, makan saja sulit.

pulau-pulau di indonesia sulit dihitung secara bersamaan karena adanya proses pasang surut.
Banyak pulau yang memiliki luas < 1 ha.
Dengan citra satelit resolusi tinggi pun tidak semua pulau bisa dihitung secara tepat karena ada yang bakal tenggelam secara temporer.

Did you know, that there are 17.508 islands in Indonesia, which is the largest Archipelago in the world?

Tampaknya data “kepulauan terbesar” masih perlu diperdebatkan. Kalau hanya menghitung pulau besar (luas > 1Km2), jumlah pulau di kepulauan di laut Baltik ini hanya 257, namun kalau pulau kecil (biasanya pulau karang) ikut dihitung, jumlah pulaunya menjadi 50 ribuan.

Out of more than 240,000,000 people in Indonesia, only 5,000 of them are doctorate degree holders!

(I’m definitely not included in that 5,000 ppl group, lol)

when I post a picture of sunset in Tanah Lot on my photoblog, a blogger from Portugal drop a comment

I smiled, yeah, I guess he’s right.

Then I wonder something ,, this year was supposed to be Visit Indonesia Year 2008, but why our national air aviation (such as Garuda and Mandala) promoting uniquely Singapore on newspaper rather than “fly with us to Taman Bunakan/Danau Toba/Kerimutu/ any beautiful places we have, you name it…)

is it a “fun fact’ or what

just wondering…? :).

This list suggests that the core of Indonesia and it’s treasures have submerged. A splendid submarine life. Now I understand an earlier post on five stars underwater accommodations.

But what about this: It’s forbidden not to have a religion.

It makes me wonder. Does that also mean: forbidden not to be religious? And in what way do the authorities check the individual level of religiousness? Is there a kind of mind police?

I love Indonesia (Yeah I know … its cliche)
But its true … we have lots of potential as a nation …
1. The most democratic election in Asia (yes we still learning stage, but we are ahead), especially ASEAN … (Unless we will have war and conflict when power is change)
2. Idealistic and proud young generation , that waiting for a change to explode …

I believe in Indonesia.

I totally agree with you. That is one great country.

But as you mentioned over and over again in your previous post, we have some issues.

Until those issues are resolved by us the younger generation of the population, those amazing things will not be fully appreciated, don’t you think?
