Howdy, Dian Sastrowardoyo!
She blogs–finally! Hope she writes too.
Found out about this at Ndoro Kakung’s. This is strange, because I just messaged her weeks ago via Facebook. What did I do? Promoting the Journal of course; spare me okay, I do need some celebrities endorsing this site.
Dian’s blog is designed by Thomas Arie Setiawan from Orangescale.net, which is also the web developer for Asia Blogging Network, Fashionese Daily, and Yusril Ihza Mahendra’s blog. Anyhow, she’ll be happily joining her fellow female celebrities that Pak Fatih Syuhud would describe as *few educated and brainy celebrities who understands the power of blog* , such as Maylaffayza, Dewi Lestari, Angelina Sondakh, Tiara Lestari, and the novelist, Fira Basuki.

Hello. You are now reading an article written by Marisa Duma, published on 31Jan08 along with other notes on Blogosphere, Indonesia, People.
Still can't find the answer you're looking for?
Perhaps you'd find one from

is it me? or… i just don’t get this blog. does Dian Sastro wants the world to see her as a celebrity or as an educated person? i expected something smarter with a sense of cause in her writings. all i see is another girly’s blog. sorry. but do call me up when natalie portman blogs! .. ;)
Ditto with M.Ginan, I just skimmed the blog and left in 2 seconds. Of course I didn’t expect her to write heavy stuffs like politics or current affairs (*cough), but even her everyday life can be interesting if she tries to be more insightful. Like Dewi Lestari, for example. Sorry, I don’t see Dian’s blog has contributed something to Indonesian blogosphere except that she’s a celebrity who blogs.
Anita’s last blog post..The Singing President
Do we really care?
@ ginan & Anita
Yes, it’s a bit unfocused?
It’s like she starts it off with a cause; then afterwards, it’s just her and her fans club. Maybe it’s just, you know, a girl-adjusting-to-the-new-territory phase. It’s her blog anyways, she should’ve just poured out everything she really believes in. So yes, unfortunately, I do agree with you both on this.
@ LilyOfTheValley
This blog is documenting the blogosphere [...] viewed from the far southeast right?, so..
(But she did mention postmodernism on her About page.)
what I really want to know is… did she really have a facebook or is it just one of those friendster yoke that celebrities use and end up having like 476 friends or something?
anyways, it took me about 5 minutes tops to browse through her blog and go, “Meh. Next!”
Maybe the point of her having a blog is to show to the world how ‘ordinary’ she can be, who knows ha3x. But it is her personal blog.
Celebrities are human too … Meh.
therry’s last blog post..The FastNet Speedtest
smell too much critics here, just let her blog
roffi’s last blog post..reached my first 100$ from adsense
This is why they call it the blogosphere, mas roffi. :)
Even the president, the governor, and professional journalists got critisized up here. And almost all bloggers I know have been getting tons tons of critics (even social pressure) before they come up with great blogs we see today. Maybe you’ve received some too?
But yes, let her blog. No one’s telling her to stop anyways.
Anyways, an update. Another celeb, Wulan Guritno, is joining the crowds.
Her blog’s at: http://wulanguritnowulanguritno.blogspot.com/
how bout marissa haque, djenar maesa ayu, paquita wijaya, marcella zalianty, or rieke dyah pitaloka? they’re smart and not just for the press, for exclusive clienteles, or for their own self image.
or how about chinca lawra!?? aka cinta laura, she can be a great bridge blogger. hehehe..
Ga ada salahnya smart for press, clienteles and self image, malah sangat dianjurkan. Tapi maklum sih kalo seleb kita jadi sekedar situationally smart. Di Indonesia, untuk satu episode, satu bintang sinetron bisa dibayar sampe Rp. 10.000.000,-, belon pake iklan dan endorsement lainnya; sementara satu guru SD, perbulannya mungkin ngga nyampe Rp. 100.000,-. Intellectuality can definitely be a purchaseable accessory in such condition.
Ha3x…
therry’s last blog post..What Would The Geordies Think?
yah..namanya juga blog pribadi,suka2 Dian Sastrowardoyo mau isi apa’an!kalo mau yg berbobot politik dll. ajak aja Andy Malarangeng tuw..
cha?blognya maia ratu mana? wa ktinggalan inpotenmen loooo
@ nadiawidya
Good point there: Andy Malarangeng should blog.
Kenapa? Supaya lebih banyak lagi anak muda Indonesia yang berani nge-blog “yg berbobot politik dll”, Andy Malarangeng aja nge-blog! Ya gak sih? Gitu kan maksudnya? *so not berbobot gue hari ini, jadi agak sekip*

Lupa gue, hehe.
denger denger dian sastro is actually very smart. maybe she has been spending much of her energy in school and reading philosophy book. thus she blogs the crap :d . sorry. i mean, i do that too alot of times. after finishing the whole day in the lab, do u expect me to write more on biology and natural science? daaaa…
terus kawan kawan, walau banyak anak muda indo yang ngeblog politik, hampir semuanya punya sikap netral atau kritik aja. belom keliatan yang memihak. i wana see individual blogger yang memihak and write good posts. must be seru.

Indeed.
Dian Sastro, in my opinion, hasn’t blogged crappy stuffs. Perhaps we expect highly of her because we expect highly of ourselves and the rest of young Indonesians?
This might be not about Dian Sastro as a person at all, most likely our complaints are more about how the public has been (accustomed to be) so ignorant concerning intellectuality as a social responsibility or a purpose. Not just a piece of certificate paper or a schedule in the agenda, but as part of who we are.
yep yep..maybe you are right. sometimes i read simple post but i think they have been written in intellectual and responsible point of view. maybe that’s what we missed from these celeb’s blogs and we actually expect them too.
Thanks God i’m not celeb :D
