What's with Japanese and tempe anyways? They should patent Nokia though, since gigazillions of techno-fetish teenagers in the global market actually thought Nokia is made in Japan, not Finland.

By the way, dear colson..
I'm now eating my sandwich* with Smeerkaas "sambal". Not sambal really, it's jam for bread (selai in Bahasa Indonesia). Made of cheese and a bit of chilli and spice. I love it.

*sandwich: smeerkaas or any favourite type of jam + two slices of whole wheat bread. Best served with hot machiatto.
Photos later.

No, I don't get drunk the hard way. Vanilla vodka or chocolate martini on the rocks, that's the hardest I can live up to.

Tempe Japanese?

I have no choice: I will have to forbid the use of Tempe in my kitchen from now on.

It reminds me of the kind of nationalistic bickering in the European Union - forbidding Champagne from Luxembourg -or from anyplace outside the Champagne region- to use that name. Or Bruyere Cheese which also officially and exclusively has been claimed by France. There are a lot of other examples of this childish comedy, played by grown up men and women.

In contrast to these examples the typically Dutch "Gouda" cheese has not been registered and may as well come from the US. But "genever" has - genever can only be called genever when it comes from the Netherlands or Flanders. Keep that in mind if you want to get drunk the hard way.
